Target and range

Self.

What does it do?

A non-attacking helper with 30 health appears beside you. It collects souls from eligible corpses within 6 tiles of you and must approach within 3 tiles of the corpse to collect. After three souls, you gain a single-use token covering the mana cost of your next Necromancy spell. You can have one Familiar and one free-mana credit at a time. Collection pauses while a credit exists. After it is spent or expires in 20 seconds, the surviving helper can begin another three-soul cycle.

Spirit Speak 0 → 100

Collection time per corpse falls from 3 to 1 second at 0 → 100 Spirit Speak.

Counterplay

If the helper dies or is removed, collected souls and an unused token are cleared. The token expires if not used within 20 seconds. If the corpse leaves your 6-tile range or line of sight, or the helper loses its 3-tile range or line of sight to it, collection from that corpse is interrupted. Previously collected souls remain while the helper survives.

Limits

Every three souls grants one credit; credits do not stack. Only corpses meeting the shared eligibility rules can be used, and a corpse is shared once with Animate Dead. Credit covers mana only; reagents and other requirements remain. It is spent when a valid primary spell starts; a later interruption refunds neither credit nor reagents. An attempt rejected before preparation, or a secondary activation, does not spend credit. A free cast costs no health or conversion budget in Lich Form. Losing the helper clears souls and unused credit.
