How to use
Choose one of the 17 spells in your Necromancy book that meets your skill level, and prepare mana and reagents. The lowest requirement is 20.0. Below 30.0 Necromancy, a Teacher can train you to 30.0 for 300 gold.
Volantis-specific rules
Spirit Speak is measured when spell preparation begins and strengthens the relevant durations or effects; these 17 spells have no separate Spirit Speak minimum. Magery used to craft the book does not replace the Necromancy required to cast its spells.
How do I raise it?
The lowest Necromancy spell requirement is 20.0. Below that, a Teacher can train you to 30.0 for 300 gold if your individual and total skill caps allow it. Skill gain chance after a valid completed use %100; a successful gain adds 0.1 points.
- Below 20.0 Necromancy, none of these 17 spells can begin a normal cast. If you are below 30.0, a Teacher can train you to 30.0 for 300 gold. Keep the gold in your normal backpack and stand within three tiles of the Teacher with line of sight. Individual and total skill caps apply.
- Select a spell from your book that you meet the skill requirement for, and prepare mana and reagents. Success or a genuine fizzle from a valid normal cast enters the usual skill-gain calculation; casts cancelled by movement or damage do not grant gain. Train Spirit Speak separately. Gain is not guaranteed on every attempt.
Progress and Real Skill Value
Set the skill lock to increase. The individual skill cap is 100 and the total cap is 700; when the total is full, set another skill to decrease. Learning is rolled independently for every valid use, so gains are not guaranteed on every attempt unless the chance is 100%. Skill gain is disabled in designated safe areas.
The Skills screen shows your real skill value. Eligible skills below 30 can be trained by the Teacher; further progress comes from valid actions for that skill. A stat lock does not lock skill gain.
