How to use
Dismount and use Stealth. You do not need to use Hiding first; a successful attempt conceals you and grants concealed steps.
Volantis-specific rules
Step allowance uses the lower base Hiding or Stealth value: 15 at 100.0; 12 at 90–99.9; 8 at 80–89.9; 6 at 70–79.9; 4 at 60–69.9; 3 at 50–59.9; and 2 below 50. Walking spends one step. A successful running step immediately reveals you. Only you see the counter at each step; you are revealed after the final allowed step. Turning in place and blocked movement spend no steps. Speaking, casting, mounting or another character passing through you breaks hiding. Armor and lighting conditions also apply.

How do I raise it?
Active skills can be used from 0.0. Recipes and special abilities retain their own skill requirements; Teacher training is optional. Skill gain chance after a valid completed use %50; a successful gain adds 0.1 points.
- Dismount and use Stealth directly while visible. Wait for the attempt to finish; Hiding first is not required. You can attempt it at 0.0 skill, but success is not guaranteed.
- Use your concealed steps after success, then try Stealth again once revealed. Train both skills because the lower of Hiding and Stealth sets your allowance. Learning follows the used skill’s normal gain chance, locks and caps; walking alone does not replace using Stealth.
Progress and Real Skill Value
Set the skill lock to increase. The individual skill cap is 100 and the total cap is 700; when the total is full, set another skill to decrease. Learning is rolled independently for every valid use, so gains are not guaranteed on every attempt unless the chance is 100%. Skill gain is disabled in designated safe areas.
The Skills screen shows your real skill value. Eligible skills below 30 can be trained by the Teacher; further progress comes from valid actions for that skill. A stat lock does not lock skill gain.
