How to use

Select Spirit Speak from the Skills list. The 2-second attempt has an 80% success chance and a 20% failure chance. Only on success does your character say Anh Mi Sah Ko, heal themselves and establish a connection to understand ghosts.

Volantis-specific rules

Wait 60 seconds after success or 10 seconds after failure. Healing is half of the 40–65 HP self-bandage base, scaled by Spirit Speak and rounded down. At 100.0 skill it heals 20–32 HP, up to your missing health. The ghost-speech connection lasts 40 minutes; another success while it is active does not refresh it. At 100.0 you understand ghosts continuously. The skill does not reveal ghosts or restore mana; it also supports some Necromancy effects.

How do I raise it?

Active skills can be used from 0.0. Recipes and special abilities retain their own skill requirements; Teacher training is optional. A Spirit Speak attempt has an 80% success chance. Only a successfully completed use awards 0.1 skill; a failed attempt awards none.

  1. You can use Spirit Speak from 0.0. Complete the 2-second attempt; its success chance is fixed at 80%. Retry after the 60-second success cooldown or the 10-second failure cooldown.
  2. Only a successfully completed use awards 0.1 skill; failure and early cancellation award none. The skill arrow must point up, and the 100.0 skill cap, total skill cap and no-gain safe-area rules apply. Success while the ghost-speech connection is already active still awards skill without refreshing its duration.
  3. Spirit Speak and Necromancy are separate skills. Opening the Necromancy book or merely selecting a spell does not count as using Spirit Speak.

Progress and Real Skill Value

Set the skill lock to increase. The individual skill cap is 100 and the total cap is 700; when the total is full, set another skill to decrease. Learning is rolled independently for every valid use, so gains are not guaranteed on every attempt unless the chance is 100%. Skill gain is disabled in designated safe areas.

The Skills screen shows your real skill value. Eligible skills below 30 can be trained by the Teacher; further progress comes from valid actions for that skill. A stat lock does not lock skill gain.
