Sign-in, Character Selection and Connection Issues

Sign in with Google or Discord

Use your account password only on your chosen provider’s sign-in screen; never send it in game chat or to a staff member. The same account with the same provider accesses the same characters in Windows and Web Client.

1. Open the desktop Volantis shortcut and wait for file checks and updates to finish.
2. Press the Google or Discord sign-in button. Choose your account on the provider’s sign-in screen.
3. Complete verification and return to the client. On your first sign-in, your game account is tied to that provider identity; no separate registration is needed.
4. Use the same account with the same provider on later sign-ins. Google and Discord accounts are not merged automatically.

Select character

An account can have up to 10 characters. The scrollable list shows their portraits, names and locations. Use the scrollbar on the right; rows and portraits stay inside the panel.

1. Select your character row, check the selection and press Enter game.
2. Use New character to create a character. Back returns to the previous screen.
3. You cannot sign into a character that is already in the game; close its existing session first.

Create your first character

Choose your name, gender, hairstyle, facial hair and colors on the appearance screen. Your name is displayed with its first letter capitalized and the remaining letters in lowercase. An existing name cannot be reused even while its owner is offline; changing letter case does not create a different name. Continue with the lower-right arrow. After creation, use .stat to distribute 225 points among STR, DEX and INT, with each between 25 and 100.

• The Skills screen shows real skill values. Explore the skills you want to develop with the Teacher, and check player-created jobs in Quests.
• Inventory is your everyday backpack; keep crafting materials here.
• Characters on the same account share Savings and Storage. Their skills and equipped items remain separate.

Choose a starting city

During character creation, select a city from the list and read its description. The description belongs to the selected city and explains its surroundings. Check your selection before continuing. This screen does not move an existing character.

Reopen the session

Use the Volantis desktop shortcut for Windows or the website’s Web Client link for browser play. If authentication is requested again, use the same account and provider. If you cancel, try again using its login button. After an unexpected disconnect, the client makes one automatic reconnection attempt. If it fails, check the error and retry with the login button; it does not keep retrying automatically.

If the connection is rejected

Read the error: network access, verification and file integrity are different problems. Complete the update for file errors; check announcements before reconnecting to an offline server. When asking for help, include the message and time. Do not share passwords, sign-in codes or session files.

Display and Zoom

Choose 50–200% Zoom under Options → Video, then press Apply / Okay. Enable and apply Ctrl + mouse wheel there too. Reset to 100% changes only the slider; Apply / Okay is still required.

Logging Out

Disconnecting does not immediately remove your character everywhere: it remains for 30 seconds in protected areas and 60 seconds outside them. Your surroundings still matter during this wait; disconnecting is not an instant escape.
