Sea trade and harbour demand

Choose a destination harbour at a Sea Merchant, seal your crafted goods on your own ship and deliver them aboard that same ship to earn a bank check.

Sea Merchant harbours

Sea Merchants stand at the docks of 12 settlements connected to the open sea. Papua also has a dock merchant, but its separate water basin has no delivery routes to the open-sea cities. Only harbours reachable by ship are available as destinations.

Closed routes and Sea Market

New sea-trade shipments cannot be started in either direction between Magincia and Ocllo, Moonglow and Nujel’m, or Ocllo and Serpent’s Hold. Buccaneer’s Den is not part of the sea-trade network. Sea Market is not a guarded region (guard zone).

Sea Merchant markers on the world map

The world map marks 22 Sea Merchant ports in Felucca. Names use the Sea Merchant - City format. These are fixed port locations; they do not track a merchant’s current position or an active shipment.

  1. Open the world map from the top menu. Use the map’s right-click menu to show or hide the Sea Merchants group.
  2. If markers are hidden, check the general marker and icon visibility options. Zoom in or hover over a marker to read its name; your name-visibility preference also applies.

Start a shipment

  1. Double-click the Sea Merchant at your departure harbour. Check the destination city, requested product category, remaining demand and payout multiplier.
  2. Press Load goods and target an item. Only the part of the selected stack that fits the quota and the 500,000 gp reward limit is loaded; you keep the rest.
  3. Goods must be accepted by the Merchant and have a verifiable crafting record. Purchased goods, newbie/blessed items and filled containers cannot be loaded.
  4. At the starting port, board your own ship and seal the cargo. The trade chest appears in front of the tiller, and the ship-bound contract goes into your backpack. Single-click the contract to see its cargo value, delivery reward, destination and remaining time. Only one active shipment is allowed per account and ship.

City demand and quotas

Scrolls, potions, cooked fish, ingots, cloth, weapons, armour/clothing and other crafted goods have separate demand categories. Cities request different quantities. For example, delivering 500 scrolls against a demand of 2,000 leaves 1,500 for that day. Other players' deliveries use the same city quota.

  • Demand resets every 24 hours. The menu separately shows delivered quantities, quantities reserved for active shipments and quantities still available.
  • An active shipment keeps its reservation when the day changes. An accepted cargo cannot lose its delivery slot because another player fills the quota.
  • Unsealed cargo has a one-hour preparation period. If it expires, its quota is released; 75% of the goods are returned and 25% are deducted.

Delivery Deadline and Cancellation

  • The four-hour delivery deadline begins when you seal the cargo aboard your ship. Logging out or restarting the server does not pause or reset this real-time period. The cargo menu shows the time remaining.
  • Before sealing, reclaiming cargo returns 75% of the goods and deducts 25%. After sealing, cancellation or failure to deliver within four hours returns 50% and deducts 50%. The menu previews the quantities returned and deducted before you act.
  • Return quantities are calculated across the total quantity of each item type and rounded down. For example, 7 units of the same product return 5 before sealing or 3 after sealing. Actual returned items retain their colour, quality and other properties; no gold is refunded.
  • On expiry, the contract is automatically cancelled, its quota reservation is released and its deed becomes invalid. Returned goods go to the shared bank vault. If it is full, the return is retained; make room and reclaim it from the departure harbour Sea Merchant. Reclaiming does not deduct the goods again.

Distance and reward

The multiplier follows the navigable sea-route distance: up to 1,000 tiles is ×1.5, 1,001–2,200 tiles is ×2, and longer routes are ×2.5. Player Vendor asking prices are not used. A shipment can pay at most 500,000 gp, but you may depart with a smaller cargo. For example, goods worth 100,000 gp to the Merchant pay a 250,000 gp check at a distant harbour.

Deliver aboard the same ship

  1. Sail the ship carrying the sealed cargo to the harbour named on the contract and approach its Sea Merchant.
  2. While aboard that ship, double-click the contract and target the Sea Merchant in the destination city.
  3. Successful delivery closes the cargo and contract; the reward is deposited once as a real check in your shared account bank. A light-blue system announcement with a ship icon tells everyone the player name, origin and destination.

Piracy risk

Sealed cargo cannot be transferred to another ship. If the ship sinks, the shipment fails, no check is paid and the contract becomes invalid. The actual cargo items go into the wreck chest and can be taken under the sea-loot rules. The merchant cannot issue a second cargo or reward after this.
